OTA Duplicate Channel - How to Fix

Hi Everyone,

Hopefully you can help with this problem.

I just installed a Terrestrial DB-8 OTA antenna to get my local channels. I am getting 95 to 100% signal strength.

It is run directly into my HR20-100 without any splitter/diplexer, etc.

Local PBS broadcasts 5 digital channels.

10.1 KISUDT
10.2 KISUDT2
10.3 KISUDT3
10.4 KISUDT4
10.5 KISUDT5

My Panasonic TV picks up all these channels correctly.

However, when run through the HR20, channel "10.3" displays the correct shows being broadcast in the on-screen guide for 10.3 but lists it as a duplicate 10.1 in the left hand column of the guide, however, the guide does show the correct station as KISUDT3

So I get in the D*TV guide

10.1 KISUDT
10.1 KISUDT3
10.2 KISUDT2
10.4 KISUDT4
10.5 KISUDT5

So how do I get the HR20-100 to change the second 10.1 to a 10.3 so I can get and record that station.

D* answer is to either run directly to TV so I can watch or live with it as they don't guarantee OTA reception.

Thanks for any help,
Randy

PS: I will be away for about an hour or two. Got to go to gym to vent......

It's a guide data issue - need to contact your station engineer and let them know the data sent to Tribune for the guide service is showing 10.3 as 10.1.
Yes, what say-what said. Your local station will need to correct their data info that they provide to Tribune, the company that maintains the info and provides it to D* and others. I had a similar issue were my FOX station would not come in as they were reporting it as 28-1 but had PSIP data (in the actual broadcast stream) as 28-0. Since they did not match, the D* unit would not pull it in even though it was a good strong signal. Once my FOX corrected it to 28-1, it came in good.

Have contacted local PBS to ask for fix. Also sent email to Tribune Media for their help also.

Thanks to all.

Good. Just follow up with them if you need to. I had to prod my FOX 2-3 times to get them to make the change (even emailing the GM).

I wish the HR series units could scan like the H series can. That would be a work-around for these issues.

It's now Saturday AM and I check the on screen guide. The problem of having channel 10-1 listed twice with the second listing actually 10-3 is fixed.

Sure wish all companies had the professional customer service that this company has.

Thanks to all.
